Young Donor Has the Knight Stuff

Cordell Vincent seems like a typical 14-year-old. He works hard in school, likes to play basketball with his friends and admires local sports heroes.

But Cordell has added a touch of atypical to the mix. Recently, he decided he wanted to not only admire the UCF Knights but support them too, and he gave a very generous donation — his own money — to the Golden Knights Club, becoming the organization’s youngest donor.

He may not call it philanthropy, but Cordell’s gift to GKC is one of the many things he does to give back. He also supports Relay for Life and volunteers at his library. Not surprisingly, he admires those who work hard and serve as positive role models for young kids.

The Knights and UCF grabbed his attention when he attended his first football game two years ago, at age 12. Since then he has attended as many football, baseball and basketball games as possible, and hopes to sit in the stands in a few years as a Knight himself. “I would love to go to UCF on an academic or athletic scholarship,” he says.

Cordell’s gift to the Golden Knights Club will support UCF’s student-athletes in their quest for excellence – academically and athletically.
