The UCF College of Business Administration (#UCFBusiness) hosted the Annual Dean’s Excellence Awards, celebrating the accomplishments of faculty, students and staff in the areas that are improving and changing the culture of the college. Dean Paul Jarley created the awards program in 2014 to highlight the work that is done every day at #UCFBusiness to foster a culture that inspires people to engage, get outside their comfort zone, apply research effectively and solve problems. Each award recognizes faculty, staff and students for their unique contributions.

Winners were recognized at an event held at the FAIRWINDS Alumni Center on Friday, April 17, 2015.

Throughout the month of April, Jarley made surprise visits to classrooms, accompanied by Student Ambassadors, to present nominations to members of the faculty.

“UCF is a young institution that is still building its identity and culture,” said Dean Jarley. “[These factors] will define the UCF experience and differentiate Knights in the market.”

A total of $10,000 was handed out to students, staff and faculty who were nominated and selected for their engagement, risk-taking, cross-disciplinary collaboration and data-driven decision-making.

The awards ranged from $500-$1,000. Each nominee received a certificate and the category winner received an autographed baseball from the dean.

Open nominations were held during the first part of the 2015 Spring semester and category winners were selected by the voting of students, the College of Business Administration Student Ambassadors, the UCF College Executive Committee and the UCF College of Business Administration’s Dean’s Advisory Board.
