PHOTOS: UCF Football vs. Temple

The No. 9 UCF football team outlasted Temple, 52-40, at Spectrum Stadium on Nov. 1, and the squad did it in style with special edition space-themed uniforms, which symbolized the university's longtime ties to the space program. The victory put the Knights in sole possession of first place in the American Athletic Conference East Division and extended UCF's historic win streak to 21 games. (Words by Jenna Marina Lee. 1For the second year in a row, UCF dedicated a game to space. The university was founded in 1963 with the mission of supporting the growing United States space program at nearby Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Among the constellation and celestial design elements, "Canaveral blue" was incorporated in the helmet and uniform to represent the colors of the sky and ocean off Cape Canaveral, Florida.
