UCF Alumnae Among Finalists for OCPS Teacher of the Year

Two UCF alumnae are among five finalists for Orange County’s 2015 Teacher of the Year.

Nancy Dale, a 1995 elementary education graduate, teaches second graders at Camelot Elementary in East Orange County. Dale is described by her fellow educators as a passionate, dedicated educator who pushes not only her students, but also her colleagues to reach their full potential.

Laura Cool, a 2010 interdisciplinary studies alumna, teaches fourth grade at Ocoee Elementary. Cool is recognized around her school as a teacher with the ability to form bonds with her students as she helps them become driven and confident learners.

The two were selected as finalists out of a pool of more than 180 Teacher of the Year submissions from Orange County schools. Other finalists are Patricia Odham, Princeton Elementary; Jean Bevan, Dr. Phillips Elementary; and Kristen Iannuzzi, West Orange High.

The winner will be announced in an awards ceremony Feb. 26 at the Rosen Centre Hotel on International Drive.
