Nearly 2,400 students and alumni attended UCF’s bi-annual Career Expo at the CFE Arena. Students had the opportunity to network and connect with 230 employers from all industries looking for students of all disciplines. Attendees had the chance to rehearse their elevator pitches, brush up on industry knowledge and immediately begin marketing themselves to employers. Employers recruited students for full-time, part-time and internship positions, providing students with several employment options.

A new feature for this expo was the introduction of the UCF Career Fair Plus app that helps students navigate a career fair. Students who downloaded the app on their iOS or Android phones could see a constantly updated list of all attending employers and where they are located at the fair. A user could also research each company further by accessing a direct link to their website. Over 1,000 students downloaded the app to help them succeed at the Career Expo.

Students participated in practice interviews in the Career Services’ Ready Room before facing employers. Several hundred on-campus interviews are typically scheduled after each Career Expo. Interviews are held in the UCF Career Services building and the College of Business Administration for students who attended expo and landed an interview with an employer.

Career Services delivers multiple large-scale events each semester. An Employment Bootcamp is held before each expo to prepare students for their job search through resume critiques and practice infomercial sessions with employers and a panel. Career events more targeted to specific majors or colleges, weekly workshops, info sessions and practice interview programs are just a snapshot of the additional year-round career readiness programs offered by Career Services.
