South African Writer to Discuss Indian Women Across Cultures

Writer and psychologist Devi Rajab will speak Tuesday, Feb. 26, about “Indian Women: A Cross-Cultural Perspective,” during a 3 p.m. presentation in the Pegasus Ballroom of the UCF Student Union. The event, organized by a partnership of The Burnett Honors College, the Global Perspectives Office and The India Center, is free and open to the public.

Rajab is a journalist for the “Natal Mercury” in Durban, South Africa, and writes a column for “Confluence,” a London-based magazine on South Asian perspectives. She was a recipient of the Vodacom Journalist of the Year Award four time between 2003 and 2008 and the Turquoise Harmony Institute Media Award for Outstanding Journalism in 2010. She is the author of “Devi’s Diary,” “No Subject is Taboo” and most recently “Women: South Africans of Indian Origin.”
