Leadership Week Starts Feb. 24

UCF will host more than 50 events geared toward helping students identify, recognize and develop leadership skills.

Leadership Week 2014: “The Gold Knight Rises, Rise to LEAD 2014” will be Feb. 24-27. Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the various events and programs during the week.

Keynote speaker Maj. Gen. Gwen Bingham, Commanding General of the U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range, will kick of the week Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. in the Key West Ballroom of the Student Union.

Other highlights include:

  • An address from UCF alumna Lauren Berger, the “Intern Queen,” from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25 in the Key West Ballroom.
  • An “Open Knight Climb” at the Recreation and Wellness Center’s Challenge Course will be open to the first 120 participants at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25.
  • Members of the Student Development and Enrollment Services team will serve as panelists in a discussion about the life of a UCF leader from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday Feb. 27, in the Key West Ballroom.
  • Coordinated by the LEAD Scholars Program, part of SDES, Leadership Week is supported by Student Government Association, LEAD Students Association and numerous other departments.
