Knights Ice Hockey Players Compete in Europe

The Knights Ice Hockey Club was ranked No. 1 in its division before the winter break, and several teammates were also selected to compete internationally in Europe.

After a 14-4-1 record this past season, the Knights were voted to the top spot in the South Region rankings of the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division III. Three UCF students and head coach Sean Weaver were then invited to travel to Switzerland, Austria and Germany for 10 days in December and January.

UCF students Connor Cafferty of Coral Springs, Danny Jackson of Orlando and Bryan Salicco of Plantation were chosen to play on the ACHA Division III team, the Selects.

After a cancelled flight, the players landed in Europe just before the New Year. Along with some sightseeing in Munich, Germany, and Salzburg, Austria – the birthplace of Mozart – the team won three games during its European Challenge.
