On Thursday, March 19, 76 Rosen College undergraduate and graduate students received a total of more than $280,000 in scholarships during a special ceremony. The majority of those students received more than one scholarship.

More than 20 sponsors from the hospitality industry recognized outstanding Rosen College students based on criteria including, but not limited to: academic performance, industry experience, passion for hospitality, professionalism and service, and philanthropy.

Graduate student Marissa Orlowski was named the first recipient of the Etta Jean and Frank Juge Graduate Fellowship Endowment, which was created to provide awards to full-time doctoral students enrolled in the Rosen College. The fellowship is merit-based and awarded based on scholarly contributions in both research activities and the classroom. Marissa is a third year doctoral candidate and graduate teaching associate in the Foodservice & Lodging Management Department. Her research focuses on teams and team development in the food & beverage context, and she currently teaches Beverage Management and Fine Spirits.
