Representatives for nearly 200 UCF graduate programs will be on hand Wednesday, Sept. 21, for the university’s annual Grad Fair hosted by the College of Graduate Studies.
The goal of the fair is to inform students and the general public about the options available to pursue a graduate education, including master’s, doctoral, specialist and certificate programs.
The fair will be 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Pegasus Ballroom of the Student Union. More than 1,200 people attended the open house last year.
The Grad Fair is an opportunity to talk one-on-one with faculty and staff. Admissions and financial-staff employees will also be available to discuss admissions options that UCF offers, as well as information on fellowships, assistantships and financial aid.
Graduate degrees help provide entry into a desired profession or advance a career. Prospective students also may want to consider that 7.4 percent of the population 18 and older holds a master’s degree while just 1.5 percent have earned a doctorate, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Completing a graduate education is a noticeable way to stand out in the workforce and increase career opportunities.
The College of Health & Public Affairs will offer two new programs beginning next spring that students can find out about at the fair: a graduate certificate in global health and public affairs, and UCF’s first interdisciplinary dual-degree program, a master’s of public administration and a master’s of science in criminal justice.
Attendees can dress casually for the free fair. Parking is available in any university lot or garage for $5.
