Golf: Eason Named PING First-Team All-American

On the heels of his eighth-place individual finish at the NCAA Championship earlier this week, UCF junior Greg Eason has been named a PING First-Team All-America performer by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

The award caps a season with numerous decorations for Eason. Earlier this month he was named to the PING All-Southeast Region team. Eason was also named Conference USA Player of the Year, as well as a First-Team All-C-USA honoree. He was also named Conferencue USA Player of the Week four times this season. Next month, Eason will take part in the prestigious Palmer Cup in Wilmington, Del. as part of Team Europe.

Over the course of the 2012-13 season Eason brought home three individual titles, including perhaps the biggest win in UCF history. The Leicester City, England native won the NCAA Tempe Regional on May 18, marking the first individual regional champion for the program. Eason is currently ranked No. 21 in the nation by Golfstat.com. His average score for the season was 70.97 and he ranks third in the nation in average number of putts per round (28.91).
