UPDATE: The UCF-Tulane game has been postponed until Nov. 5 at a time to be determined. Tickets for the game will be valid on that date. UCF is closed Thursday, Oct. 6, and Friday, Oct. 7.

UCF will host Tulane University at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, in a football game that will be nationally televised on ESPNU. Here’s everything you need to know, from class schedules to clear bags to parking, for UCF’s only non-Saturday home game this season.

Classes and university operations

UCF will follow the same weekday game day schedule used for the past several years. Classes on the main campus, in the Central Florida Research Park, at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management and on UCF’s regional campuses will be conducted through 3 p.m. University operations at those locations also will close at 3 p.m., and game day activities will begin at 4 p.m.

Faculty members with classes in progress at 3 p.m. Friday may choose to conduct the portion of those classes that comes before 3 p.m.

Some staff members will be required to work past the time when the university closes. Please speak with your supervisor about how your area will handle operations after 3 p.m.

UCF will re-open for normal operations, including regular class and activity schedules, at 6 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8.

Student, staff and faculty parking

Regular university parking policies will be in effect until 3 p.m. Friday.

Students and staff and faculty members will be able to park in many campus parking lots and garages after classes have concluded on game day. Those areas include garages A, B and I, the Libra Garage and lots B5-B6, B9, B12-13 and H4.

Students and staff and faculty members who have a game day parking permit may remain parked in their designated Gold Zone lot or garage throughout the day as long as their game day permit is displayed.

All unauthorized vehicles in Garages C, D, F and H and Lots E1-E8 are subject to towing beginning at 3 p.m. Parking is also prohibited on East Plaza Drive.

As a reminder, we offer $20 cash parking in Garage H on game days, which will be available to all fans. Since 2011, we have raised more than $200,000 for first-generation scholarships through Garage H proceeds.

Game day parking and activities

Most campus parking lots will open at 4 p.m. for game day parking, and tailgating begins at 4 p.m.

There’s plenty of fun planned outside the stadium before kickoff.

  • 3 p.m.: Check-in begins for tailgating on Memory Mall. Tailgating starts in all lots at 4 p.m.
  • 4:30 p.m.: IOA Plaza activities begin, including a family fun zone, food trucks and concerts by MG Music and Badd Mannerz
  • 5:45 p.m.: Fans can watch the Knight Walk from IOA Plaza on the west side of the stadium as the team arrives and walks around the stadium.
  • 7 p.m.: The Marching Knights, Knightro, Pegasus and the Spirit Squad lead the March to Victory down East Plaza Drive to the stadium.

    • Student shuttles

    Regular weekday shuttle routes will operate until 3 p.m. Game day shuttles, which include all routes except for Tivoli and Northgate (6) and NorthView (13), will run starting at 3 p.m. through two hours after the game ends.

    Library and dining hours

    The John C. Hitt Library will be open from 7:30 a.m.to 5 p.m. Friday. 63 South will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Knightro’s will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

    Reminder: Clear bag policy

    The clear bag policy remains in effect at the stadium to provide a safer environment and expedite the entry process. Fans are encouraged not to bring any bags, but if they do, only these are allowed:

  • Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
  • One-gallon clear plastic storage/freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
  • Small purses and clutch bags no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″ (roughly the size of an adult hand)
