The Believe faculty and staff campaign officially wrapped up Thursday, March 31 with a celebration luncheon for donors at the FAIRWINDS Alumni Center, where President John C. Hitt announced a new record: 1,815 donors, an 18% increase over last year. This included 271 new donors. Altogether, the campaign raised more than $890,000.
The fact that so many faculty and staff members participated says a great deal about the university. First and foremost, it says to the community, peer institutions and, most importantly, UCF’s students, that those who work at the university are deeply devoted to its success.
About $175,000 was raised for scholarships. The top five supported funds included First Generation Scholarships, which support those students who are the first in their families to attend college; Knights Helping Knights Pantry; Golden Knights Club; College of Medicine; and UCF’s Area of Greatest Need, which addresses the university’s most urgent needs.
