DeVos Sport Business Management Program Receives Global Recognition

The UCF College of Business Administration (#UCFBusiness) DeVos Sport Business Management Program has been recognized as one of the top two graduate sports management curricula in the world and the United States by SportBusiness International.

“Our program produces socially conscious industry leaders,” said Vincent Pierson, ’15, a recent alumnus and manager of diversity and inclusion for Minor League Baseball. “The ability to provide students with a network that spans the globe, combined with an exceptional placement record, really separates the DeVos Program from the pack.”

The program was ranked ahead of more than 600 academic course and alumni entries reviewed by the publication.

“We are proud to be ranked as one of the top two post-graduate sports business management program in the world and U.S. by SportBusiness International,” said Mike Redlick, the program’s director of external affairs and partnership relations. “The DeVos Program continues to train the very best sports industry business leaders of the next generation and it is rewarding that the sports industry recognizes that.”

Current student Lizzy Whitbeck says the ranking reflects her experience of the program.

“I am extremely humbled to be a member of this program. It provides a unique opportunity for its students to excel with hands-on experiences in the sports industry while holding true to its core values of ethics, diversity, leadership and community. That is why I chose DeVos.”

SportBusiness International is the flagship magazine of the SportBusiness Group, founded in 1996. Its rankings are globally recognized as the most comprehensive guide to university sports management courses.

The DeVos Sport Business Management program is an integrative “living classroom” with a rigorous and comprehensive academic schedule that keeps teams of students together throughout their coursework. In addition, graduates will be able to discover the role of sport in society; how the power of sport can help create a more inclusive society; and the responsibility of sport to use that power to make a difference.
