What makes #UCFBusiness stand out as one of the most millennial-friendly business colleges in the world?

The college has fully embraced the use of the hashtag. Online engagement runs through the veins of the college.

With superior social media involvement, a beautiful new mobile-optimized website, and a blogging dean, #UCFBusiness is embracing the future of communication in higher education.

One distinctive opportunity that the college provides is a bi-weekly Twitter chat. Students have the chance to connect with alumni and business professionals from around the world by following the hashtag #UCFBizChat, asking questions and receiving advice in 140 characters or less.

Why Twitter? According to Career Coach Kelly Bogey, “Employers and recruiters are always looking for unique ways to reach out to potential candidates, and one of the ‘gold mines’ for outreach is Twitter. We want our students to think outside the box!”

Non-traditional job posting platforms like Twitter allow students to set themselves apart from the competition when vying for job offers. Over the course of the semester, professionals from various industries will be participating in order to provide a subject matter for every student.

On Friday, February 6th, #UCFBusiness will welcome digital strategist and UCF alumna, Selena Narayanasamy, ’09, to #UCFBizChat. Beginning promptly at 3:30 p.m., she will be answering questions about the fast-paced digital marketing industry. A shining example of the College of Business Administration’s entrepreneurial culture, Narayanasamy has been widely recognized for her SEO talents and creativity. Her unique career path after graduation took her from freelance consulting, through leadership roles in digital marketing agencies, and ultimately to running her own company. Narayanasamy now serves as the president and head of strategic digital consulting for Orthris, a Los Angeles-based digital marketing consultancy. In this role, she has consulted with mobile app companies, entertainment companies and startups on topics from SEO to content marketing.

Follow the college on Twitter @UCFBusiness to chat with Narayanasamy, as well as UCF students, faculty, and alumni.
