UCF is in its final week of the annual United Way campaign to help those in need in our community. This charitable-giving program in partnership with the Heart of Florida United Way allows UCF faculty, staff, and students to make a positive impact on the lives of our neighbors who are in need.

Throughout this month a pledge drive and various events are being held to increase awareness, raise funds, and give back to Central Florida.

“What I love about the Live United campaign at UCF is that it allows me to give to nonprofits with whom I have a long-standing relationship of support,” said Montel Watson, director of resource management, and this year’s campaign cabinet chair. “By combining my donation with others at UCF, it has a bigger impact.”

Employees can designate how their donation is used, either for a specific cause or to a charity of their choice. There is also the option of payroll deductions for donations.

It’s easy to pledge online. Log into MyUCF.edu, and under the “employee self service” button, click on United Way ePledge. The link will only be active until the end of this week.

“UCF stands for opportunity. Let’s seize this chance to provide more opportunities for our neighbors and friends,” said UCF President John C. Hitt.
