The University of Central Florida’s updated master plan covering land use, campus improvements and other topics will be discussed Tuesday, July 15, at a hearing to gather public comments.
UCF updates its plan every five years. The new plan will cover the university’s goals and objectives from 2015 to 2025.
The hearing at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday will be in Room 106 of Classroom Building II, and free parking will be available in Garage H. The hearing will begin with a presentation on the plan and the planning process. Those in attendance then will have opportunities to give verbal comments or submit written comments.
A draft master plan update will be published online approximately two weeks after the public hearing. From the time the plan is published, the public will have 90 days to submit comments by mail or email.
The plan also will be reviewed by a dozen agencies, including Orange and Seminole counties, the cities of Orlando and Oviedo, the St. Johns River Water Management District and the Florida Department of Transportation.

The UCF Board of Trustees is scheduled to hold a second public hearing on the master plan in November, and anyone interested in commenting on the plan can do so during that hearing. The update also must be approved by the Florida Board of Governors, which oversees all of the state universities.
The final 2015 update will replace the 2010 master plan update.
