Two of the three residence halls in the University of Central Florida’s Neptune Community are now complete, and students can move into both buildings on Saturday.
The completion of Building 157 on Friday afternoon means that students will be living in the two largest Neptune residence halls before classes begin next week. Building 158 houses approximately 254 students, and Building 157 houses approximately 208.
Students in both buildings can move in between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday or 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday. Students and families should follow the signs to Hercules Community Check-in once they enter the UCF campus.
Building 156 will not be ready this weekend, and the approximately 203 residents are being placed in temporary rooms at the Towers at Knights Plaza. We expect that Building 156 will be open shortly after the fall semester begins.
Students in temporary housing will have the option to move into Neptune once their room is ready or remain in their temporary room for the fall and spring semesters at their lower Neptune rent.
If they choose to move, we will provide them with assistance and supplies, along with flexibility in moving dates. Students also may choose to remain at home or stay with friends until their residence hall opens, and in those cases we would only charge them rent for the days when their residence hall is open.
“We are thankful for our students’ and families’ patience and understanding throughout this unusual move-in week,” said UCF spokesman Chad Binette. “We will make every effort to help all of our students start the school year comfortably and successfully.”
