The Office of Multicultural Academic & Support Services hosted the Excellence in Action ceremony with approximately 200 first generation and multicultural students who were recognized for their academic achievement. Not only did these students achieve a 3.5 GPA or higher in the fall 2013 semester, but they also stand with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. The students were recognized with a certificate and a ribbon, and convened with their families and friends, who congratulated them on their accomplishments.

Kensington Shields-Dutton, coordinator in the Office of Student Involvement, gave the keynote address, acknowledging the students’ achievement and encouraging them to continue on their paths to excellence.
