Lopez took home a silver medal at National Championships in Tempe, AZ.

The UCF Racquetball team is eyeing a great 2012-13 campaign after one of the team’s most successful years. Two members of the club racquetball team competed at the United States Racquetball Championships for the first time in team history. Travis Burnell and Shawn Lopez finished first and second in their division to take home gold and silver medals respectively during the championship held at Arizona State University.

UCF racquetball ranks 25th overall nationally among division one colleges. The team’s goals include moving up to the top 10 and raising enough money to take its top eight players to the 2013 National Championships.

The UCF Racquetball team is part of the Sport Clubs Council, a component of the Recreation and Wellness Center. The SCC and RWC are funded by the Student Government Association with a continuing mission to enrich campus life through programs that foster healthy lifestyles.
