After launching a fully online master’s degree in Spring 2015 and two new certificate programs, Rosen College’s Fall 2015 admissions and enrollment figures show growing interest in graduate education in the area of hospitality and tourism management. Rosen College’s flexible offerings now offer students the choice of face-to-face classes or a custom mix of online and in-person coursework to fit their schedule and budget, making it easier for busy professionals to pursue graduate education.
As of Fall 2015, Rosen College reported significant increases and record figures in graduate applications and enrollment:
Graduate students represent a variety of professional backgrounds beyond just hospitality. Some are currently working in positions that employ hospitality practices and principles, but never received any formal education or training in the field. That’s why students like Julie Leschinski, an event coordinator for Orange County Public Schools, choose to go back to school.
“Working for OCPS has allowed me to bring together my passion for event planning with my love for education,” said Leschinski. “Going back to school for a master’s degree was always something that I wanted to do, but I decided to take the leap when UCF came out with a flexible program that matched what I was looking for. I chose to pursue a Master of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management because it helped diversify my education and gave me the opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of the hospitality and tourism field.”
