Prepare for the Job Market at UCF Grad Fair

Anyone interested in advancing their careers with graduate school should make plans for UCF’s Grad Fair on Sept. 11. The College of Graduate Studies will host the annual gathering from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Pegasus Ballroom at the Student Union.

UCF Grad Fair is an open-house style event to learn more about the university’s nearly 200 graduate programs, including master’s, doctoral and specialist programs, as well as graduate certificates.  According to this year’s U.S. News & World Report’s Best Graduate Schools guide, UCF has 21 graduate programs that rank in the top 100 of their specific fields,

Grad Fair is an opportunity to talk one-on-one with faculty and staff representing programs. Graduate admissions and financials staff will also be on hand to discuss the variety of admissions options that UCF offers, as well as information on the fellowships, assistantships, and financial aid that are available.

There is no fee for admission, and attendees can dress casually. Parking is available in the university’s garages or student lots for $5.  For more information, visit www.graduate.ucf.edu/GradFair or email gradadmissions@ucf.edu.

Between now and 2020, about 55 million job openings are expected to be created, according to a recent report from the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce. An estimated 6 million of those jobs will require a graduate degree.

Individuals who hold graduate degrees earn about 30 percent more annually than individuals with a baccalaureate degree alone, according to another study by the U.S. Census Bureau.
