October is Live United Month at UCF

On Oct. 1, UCF kicked off its annual United Way Campaign, our employees’ community impact initiative.  Our goal is to reach $160,000 in contributions to our community.

Throughout October, the campus community will be supporting the United Way and other agencies through monetary donations and special events.

Donations can be given through payroll deduction, cash or check, or credit card.  There are paper pledge forms as well as an online giving option.  Donors can choose from United Way designation options such as their Investing in Results programs, specific United Way agencies, or a write-in option.

“As the 2012 United Way campaign begins, I encourage our staff members, faculty members, and students to participate in this worthy effort,” said President John C. Hitt. “Keep our great Knights’ tradition of generosity going strong.”

Special events this year include a Live United Flea Market on Oct. 17, our 4th annual Needs Drive benefitting the Child Life Program at Nemours, several opportunities for volunteering and agency visits, and more.  We also have an initiative designed to support UCF’s commitment to health and wellbeing: our 2nd annual RunUnited challenge, which lasts throughout October.
