After the Library was cleared, a UCF police officer was securing a weapon in his vehicle when it accidentally discharged. No injuries were reported. Police will review.

UCF Police did not find any threat at John C. Hitt Library. Building will reopen soon.

UCF Police is investigating an unconfirmed report of a woman with a gun in the John C. Hitt Library late this afternoon. This report came in through a social media post.
The Library has been evacuated, and UCFPD is investigating. Officers have not confirmed any person with a weapon. Please stay clear of the Library. All other buildings are open, and all classes will continue.
