Know Your Progress With the GPS

“It’s about time!” said one Engineering student, after getting acquainted with her automated Graduate Plan of Study (GPS) for the first time. Across campus, the news is spreading and eager graduate students are reacting to the new interactive GPS Academic Advisement system.

Years of research and development went into the incalculable customizations and upgrades that the system now offers. No longer will students become frustrated with poor function, slow updates, and awkward interfaces.

“I love the new advisement report; it’s so easy to read,” says Alex, second year Engineering PhD student. “I don’t have to contact my program advisor just to find out if a particular course can satisfy a program requirement—it’s all right there in the report.”

Whether your dream is to become a forensic scientist, an engineer, or an educator, the GPS was designed to help plan your academic career. It will give you the ability to simulate “WHAT IF” scenarios and allow you to assess the number of courses or other program requirements needed to complete your degree. It will also display your in-progress coursework, completed courses, and even transfer credit.

Please note that graduate students will no longer have access to DARS. Students may access their GPS reports through the student portal at my.ucf.edu. Enter your PID, then go to Main Menu > Self Service > Student Center.  At the drop down box, select “Graduate Plan of Study” then click the right-facing arrow to process your report.
