UCF now ranks 33rd, advancing three spots from its 2010 position on the magazine’s annual 100-school list of best-value U.S. public colleges and universities. UCF has advanced 12 spots in just two years.

The ranking, which combines excellent economic value with an outstanding education, comes as good news to students and their families as they cope with a sluggish economy.

Kiplinger’s develops its college rankings using measures of academic quality -– such as SAT or ACT scores and graduation rates -– and an affordable price tag, including tuition and financial aid.

UCF continues to receive noteworthy national rankings. U.S. News & World Report ranked UCF seventh in its “Top Up-and-Coming Schools” list, which lauds institutions for their success and innovation in academics, faculty, student life, campus and facilities. No other Florida university made the top 10.

In addition, U.S. News & World Report’s Best Graduate Schools guide ranked five UCF programs among the nation’s best in their fields. Engineering, Education, Speech-Language Pathology, Public Administration and Computer Science all made the top 100. UCF’s engineering programs led the way and ranked #2 in Florida.
