The UCF Interfraternity Council (IFC) hosted their inaugural Community Service Day on February 12 at Freedom Ride in Orlando. Freedom Ride is a registered non-profit horse ranch dedicated to provide therapeutic horseback riding for anyone with a disability. Children and adults with disabilities such as cerebral palsy, muscular sclerosis and autism are among some of their most frequent riders.

“Giving back to the community is what Greek life is all about,” said Tyler Rits, community service chair.

The IFC members spent their Saturday morning painting most the ranch’s fences, routine yard work and cleaning out horse stables. Nearly every single IFC fraternity was represented at the event.

“It’s great to see our boys giving up their day off from school to help a great cause and get their hands dirty,” said Adam Brock, IFC president.

IFC plans to return to Freedom Ride later this semester and hold supply drives for items on their wish list. To keep up-to-date on IFC, join their Facebook Group (Interfraternity Council at UCF), follow them on Twitter (ifcucf), or visit their Web site at: https://fsl.sdes.ucf.edu/councils#ifc.
