A mixed media exhibition and discussion on creativity featuring an FSU art instructor will be hosted by the University of Central Florida Art Gallery.

“Leafstorm,” featuring the works of professor Mary Stewart, will kick off with a free reception 6-8 p.m. Jan. 8 in the gallery, Rm. 140A in the UCF Visual Arts Building. The show will continue through Feb. 13.

Stewart is interested in expressing elements of time, memory and knowledge through a variety of media. Her current body of work explores how we construct and express knowledge in ourselves and in the world around us.

On the final day of the exhibition, Stewart will lead a 2 p.m. discussion titled “From STEM to STREAM,” which will explore connections between convergent and divergent thinking, and consider ways in which art and resources can enhance STEM study areas.

Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
