Foot Race: Event Management Student Competes to Deliver Shoes to Children in Need

Senior Event Management major, Ruth Rudnick, created this flag for the TOMS 2013 Ticket to Give contest.

The mission of the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida is to develop future generations of global hospitality leaders. Senior Event Management major, Ruth Rudnick, appears to be the living embodiment of this mission, as she is competing for the opportunity to travel the world on a humanitarian effort, delivering new shoes to children in need.

Rudnick currently sits in 18th place in TOMS 2013 Ticket to Give contest, with 825 votes. Contestants are tasked with creating digital flags that explain why attending a Giving Trip would meaningful to them. All entries are featured online at www.toms.com/ticket-to-give, where friends, family and the TOMS community have until April 12 to vote for their favorite flags.

The 50 contestants with the most votes will be sent on a Giving Trip later this year.

“This contest is a great opportunity to travel and help children in underprivileged countries,” said Rudnick. “Right now, the goal is to get as many votes as possible, so please vote for me.”
