Five UCF Incubator Graduates Among Florida’s Companies to Watch

A company that developed an innovative method for teachers to engage with digital learners is one of five UCF Business Incubation Program graduates ranked as one of 50 companies deemed “worth watching” in Florida.

The company, 21st Century Learning Solutions (21CLS), was selected for the 2013 class of Florida Companies to Watch.

Sponsored by GrowFL, the Florida Economic Gardening Institute at UCF and the Edward Lowe Foundation, Florida Companies to Watch is a unique awards program that honors second-stage growth companies for their impressive employment rates and revenue growth. Companies selected for the award have a reputation for generating a large amount of new jobs and strengthening Florida’s economy.

Technology Driven Classrooms (TDC): Engaging the iGeneration, 21CLS’ flagship course, is an eight-week online, instructor-led, graduate-level course for educators seeking to fundamentally change the way they teach and their students learn. As participants explore the “Always On” mentality, they gain a concrete understanding and appreciation for how mobile devices, specifically the iPad, can supplement and dramatically enhance students’ learning.

In addition to 21CLS, the following UCFBIP graduate companies were announced as winners:

<AVT Simulation, founded in 1998, provides professional engineering services and training solutions to the simulation ^[1], training and entertainment ^[2] markets. AVT Simulation is a minority-owned business qualified under the Small Business Administration 8(a) program.

Snapt provides Enterprise Marketing Management software for the Real Estate industry that identifies, establishes and nurtures more profitable relationships using on-demand solutions.

Solodev is a website design and Internet software development company with an enterprise website content management system that enables customers to create, manage and deliver website content with maximum flexibility and ease. Serving customers in healthcare, public utilities, technology, economic development, education, non-profits and more, Solodev’s Internet Suite saves customers time and money by allowing them to quickly adapt to their web presence to their market demands.

Therigy is a biopharmaceutical services company focused on improving the use of biotech therapy to achieve superior healthcare outcomes through the integration of therapy management and technology. Through Therigy’s consulting and solutions delivery, clients can achieve optimal clinical results across all distribution channels.

Since its founding in 1999, the UCFBIP has helped several hundred emerging companies, including more than 120 current clients and 100 graduates. Earlier this year, Entrepreneur Magazine cited the program ^[3] as one of “America’s Best Under the Radar Business Incubators” for helping to create 1,500 new jobs and generate revenues in excess of $60 million.
