College of Education Shines at Exceptional Children Conference

Students and alumni from UCF’s Exceptional Student Education program represented the College of Education at the annual Florida Council for Exceptional Children Conference.

Held last weekend in Jupiter, Fla., the conference featured presentations by UCF students and graduates and showcased their research. The conference was led by Kimberly Pawling, a UCF alumna who is the president of the FCEC.

Kelly Grillo, who earned her master’s and doctorate degrees from UCF, won the prestigious Landis Stetler Award for Outstanding Leadership. Grillo received the award for her dedication to students with disabilities and their families.

“These accomplishments are a continued testimony to the dedication, knowledge and mentoring by our faculty,” said Professor and Program Coordinator Mary Little.
