UCF’s Center for Distributed Learning was recognized Monday by the United States Distance Learning Association as one of the top distance-learning institutions in the nation.

UCF was presented with one of three 21st Century Awards for Best Practices in Distance Learning at the organization’s national conference in St. Louis.

The USDLA Awards highlight instructors, programs and professionals who have demonstrated extraordinary results through the use of online, satellite, video conferencing, and blended-learning delivery technologies.

“Each year these recognized leaders raise the bar and exceed best practice expectations for the industry as a whole,” said John G. Flores, executive director of USDLA and a professor at Nova Southeastern University.

Also winning the award were Western Governors University, an online institution in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J.
