UCF College of Education and Human Performance interim Dean and Professor Grant Hayes was recently elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE).

A nationwide alliance of teacher preparation programs, the AACTE lists over 800 public and private colleges and universities as members. Focused on accountability, diversity, professionalism, and providing the highest quality learning for all students, the member institutions and the AACTE work to advance teacher preparation and educational outcomes across the field by fostering collaboration and advancement.

Prior to his election to AACTE’s Executive Committee, Dean Hayes served on the Board of Directors for the organization for three years.

“I look forward to contributing my experience and energy to advocating for the advancement of teacher preparation programs in this new role at the national level,” Dean Hayes tells us. “It has been my distinct pleasure to be involved in the advancement of educator preparation for many years, and this new role represents a tremendous opportunity for me to have a voice for our faculty.”
