UCF is offering a free leadership development program to black students Friday, Oct. 2, and Saturday, Oct. 3.

Called The B.L.A.C.K. Institute, the two-day conference aims to increase retention by building black students’ connection to UCF and the community and highlighting their roles as leaders.

The conference is a follow up to the regular B.L.A.C.K. Series of campus events. B.L.A.C.K. is short for Building Leaders And Connecting Knights.

Sponsored by Counseling and Psychological Services, the conference will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in room 117 of the Teaching Academy.

Registration is free and available at http://caps.sdes.ucf.edu/blackinstitute. Sign up closes Monday, Sept. 28.

The event is made possible through funding from the UCF Parent and Family Fund Grant.
