Cameron Ford, Ph.D., a leader in promoting student entrepreneurship at UCF, will headline a presentation this month at the Citrus Club in downtown Orlando, as part of the UCF College of Business Administration (#UCFBusiness) Dean’s Speaker Series. Each month, faculty thought leaders present their ideas to local business leaders in a “TED”-style format.

In his remarks, Ford will highlight the enormous success of the UCF Blackstone LaunchPad and other related programs that comprise the entrepreneurial ecosystem at UCF. In addition, he will discuss the impact of these efforts in shaping the Central Florida economy. Ford is an expert when it comes to the development of entrepreneurial minds. He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Penn State University and served on the faculty of Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Management before joining UCF. His scholarly interests focus on processes related to new venture emergence, with a particular emphasis on how decision-making and communication processes help creative visions evolve into business ventures.

“Building a Movement: The Next Generation of Entrepreneurial Leadership” will be held on February 20, 2015 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. The $20 registration fee includes breakfast and parking. Seating is limited and the program is sure to sell out. More information is available at https://business.ucf.edu/speaker-series/.

The agenda is as follows:

  • 7:30 a.m. Networking
  • 8:00 a.m. Presentation
  • 8:20 a.m. Q&A
  • 9:00 a.m. Adjourn
  • As a part of #UCFBusiness’ transformation into a “next-generation business school”, students are encouraged to think outside the traditional realm of job opportunities and create their own businesses. Students have access to free resources such as the Blackstone LaunchPad, StarterLab and the Upstarts Accelerator that allow them to take their idea from concept to completion. Ford oversees many of these campus initiatives.

The Dean’s Speaker Series, sponsored by the CFE Federal Credit Union, is a monthly opportunity from the UCF College of Business Administration to learn about the provocative and new programs that our world class faculty are spearheading, researching, and teaching. This is an opportunity to be out on the edge of new business ideas and network with other business leaders in our community.
