Central Florida’s arts community toasted the UCF School of Performing Arts at “Bubbles & Broadway” on Sunday, April 15, the first-ever fundraising event for the school.

Guests at Casa Feliz in Winter Park were transported virtually to the Broadway stage and enjoyed dazzling UCF student performances by the jazz quartet, guitar and flute ensembles, vignettes from the musical Ragtime enacted by musical theater students and renditions of popular Broadway tunes sung a capella.

Attendees purchased chances to win a one-carat, $5,000 diamond, which was placed in the bottom of one glass of pink champagne disguised among other glasses of the tinted bubbly containing cubic zirconias. The diamond was donated by the International Diamond Center, one of the evening’s sponsors. The lucky winner said she planned to auction the gem and donate the proceeds back to the College of Arts and Humanities.

More than $20,000 was raised at the event to support the students and programs at the UCF School of Performing Arts.
