The application deadline for UCF’s new program for students with intellectual disabilities has been extended to May 13.

“Students and families have been asking great questions, which we are using to help us develop the country’s premier program. We wanted to minimize any unnecessary hurdles for students so added extra time to complete the applications,” said Mark Gumble, assistant vice president of Student Development and Enrollment Services. “We also want families to have the additional time to contact us if they have questions so that we can try to help resolve any concerns they may have.”

The pilot program, a part of SDES, will start this fall as an immersive college experience for students who cannot access traditional college opportunities. The program will begin on UCF’s main campus and is expected to expand to UCF Downtown when that campus is scheduled to open in Fall 2017.

Application forms and additional information can be found on the program’s website at http://ies.sdes.ucf.edu/. If there are any questions, contact the program at IES@ucf.edu or 407-823-4427.
