The Central Florida Research Park will host an anti-terrorism training exercise on Friday morning, Oct. 22.

The U.S. Army, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and Orange County Fire Rescue will be working together during an exercise that involves a mock terrorist attack on the U.S. Army Simulation and Training Technology Center (STTC) located in the Orlando Tech Center cluster of buildings in Research Park.

The exercise will involve law enforcement and fire rescue activity in and around the Orlando Tech Center, but it is only an exercise and does not constitute a real emergency.

The exercise is closed to the public, and vehicle access to portions of the Orlando Tech Center may be limited between 6 a.m. and noon.

The STTC is leading the exercise, which will not only give local and federal agencies the opportunity to work together, but is also a requirement of military installations around the country to ensure readiness for any emergency.
