The Rosen College Lodging Alumni Council (RCLAC) successfully held its first annual Holiday Charity Event.  Members of the collective donated time and food to provide breakfast for children and families staying and being treated at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida. The events were held Sunday, Dec. 11 and Monday, Dec. 12.

Rosen alumna and Convention Services Coordinator of the Buena Vista Palace Hotel and Spa, Cheryl Nadzak shares, “The event turned out great.  It was an amazing experience to share with fellow students and alumni – especially around the holiday season. Thank you to Jereme Pozin, Rebecca Cohen, Todd Fisher, Lynn Desjarlais, Jesse Ramirez, Matt Cummings, and Nicole Corsetti who volunteered.”

Nadzak’s property provided bagels, country fried potatoes and orange juice.  Families also enjoyed pancakes, sausage links and eggs.

The RCLAC was developed this year and brings together more than 100 Rosen College alumni from local hotels.  It strives to provide a vehicle for employee engagement, career development and promotes volunteerism within the lodging industry in Central Florida.

The UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management Alumni Chapter, with support of the RCLAC, will plan several UCF Rosen alumni events throughout the academic year. Hotel alumni representatives will infuse with the chapter to discuss networking, mentorship opportunities and more. Periodically, the hotel collectives will meet on property with employees who are graduates of the UCF Rosen College to connect and discuss ways to support the college and the UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management Alumni Chapter.

UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management alumni are a global community, representing all 50 states and several countries. The UCF Alumni Association’s mission is to enhance the lives of UCF alumni, parents, students and friends by fostering a mutually beneficial relationship with the university.
